Deformable rubber band

A deformable rubber band, modeled as a highly stretchy rod loop for bundling and packing.

Also called elastic band or rubber loop.

Elastic rod

Delivered as USD for NVIDIA Isaac Sim

How is the deformable rubber band modeled?

A rubber band can stretch to several times its length. We model it as a closed rod loop with a stretch stiffness that rises as it stretches, so it snaps tight around a bundle.

Sizes follow common band widths and lengths.

Which parts of the deformable rubber band deform?

Band
Stretchy loop that snaps tight

What ships in the USD?

One USD file per variant, with the render mesh, the simulation geometry and a physics material bound to it. Every value is set and named, so you can open it in NVIDIA Isaac Sim and run your task, or read the numbers into your own solver from the material JSON.

  • Elastic rod. A centerline curve with a radius, and stiffness in bending, twisting and stretching. Used for cables, wires, hoses and ropes.

Where is it used?

  • Bundling items
  • Packing produce
  • Dexterity benchmarks

Industries: Logistics, Food, Household

Questions

Which simulators does the deformable rubber band open in?

It ships as USD for NVIDIA Isaac Sim and Newton. We also deliver MJCF for MuJoCo and Genesis, a GLB mesh, and a JSON file with every material value.

Can it be matched to our real object?

Yes. Send us a sample, a drawing or a few photos and we set size, stiffness and friction to match your part.

How do we get it?

Choose your simulator, format and variant, then tell us where to send it. We prepare the files and email them to you.

Not in the catalog? We build any object to order, with the same physics and delivery.
