Deformable bubble wrap sheet

A deformable bubble wrap sheet, modeled as a shell with air cells for packing stations.

Also called bubble film or air cushion film.

Thin shell

Delivered as USD for NVIDIA Isaac Sim

How is the deformable bubble wrap sheet modeled?

Bubble wrap is a flat film with a grid of air cells. We model it as a shell with the cells as raised pressurized pockets, so it is springy across its face and wraps around an item in broad curves.

Sheets are cut to standard sizes or come off a roll.

Which parts of the deformable bubble wrap sheet deform?

Sheet
Springy film with air cells that wraps around items

What ships in the USD?

One USD file per variant, with the render mesh, the simulation geometry and a physics material bound to it. Every value is set and named, so you can open it in NVIDIA Isaac Sim and run your task, or read the numbers into your own solver from the material JSON.

  • Thin shell. A thin surface with in-plane and bending stiffness, sealed or open, with contents modeled inside. Used for film, bags, cans and paper.

Where is it used?

  • Wrapping items at a packing station
  • Padding a box

Questions

Which simulators does the deformable bubble wrap sheet open in?

It ships as USD for NVIDIA Isaac Sim and Newton. We also deliver MJCF for MuJoCo and Genesis, a GLB mesh, and a JSON file with every material value.

Can it be matched to our real object?

Yes. Send us a sample, a drawing or a few photos and we set size, stiffness and friction to match your part.

How do we get it?

Choose your simulator, format and variant, then tell us where to send it. We prepare the files and email them to you.
