Deformable zip-lock bag

A deformable zip-lock bag with a working zipper, modeled as a film shell for home robots and lab kitting.

Also called resealable bag, zipper bag, freezer bag or sandwich bag.

Thin shell

Delivered as USD for NVIDIA Isaac Sim

How is the deformable zip-lock bag modeled?

The bag is a thin film shell with a stiffer double track along the top. The track is modeled as two strips that press together and hold, so opening and closing the bag can be scripted.

It comes empty and flat, or half full with loose items that change how it folds.

Which parts of the deformable zip-lock bag deform?

Film
Thin shell that wrinkles and folds
Zipper track
Two stiffer strips that press closed

What ships in the USD?

One USD file per variant, with the render mesh, the simulation geometry and a physics material bound to it. Every value is set and named, so you can open it in NVIDIA Isaac Sim and run your task, or read the numbers into your own solver from the material JSON.

  • Thin shell. A thin surface with in-plane and bending stiffness, sealed or open, with contents modeled inside. Used for film, bags, cans and paper.

Where is it used?

  • Opening and sealing a bag
  • Lab kitting
  • Packing food at home

Industries: Household, Laboratory

Questions

Which simulators does the deformable zip-lock bag open in?

It ships as USD for NVIDIA Isaac Sim and Newton. We also deliver MJCF for MuJoCo and Genesis, a GLB mesh, and a JSON file with every material value.

Can it be matched to our real object?

Yes. Send us a sample, a drawing or a few photos and we set size, stiffness and friction to match your part.

How do we get it?

Choose your simulator, format and variant, then tell us where to send it. We prepare the files and email them to you.
