Deformable sack

A deformable sack of rice, flour or cement, modeled as a shell around granular fill for palletizing and depalletizing.

Also called bag of cement, rice sack, flour sack or bulk bag.

Delivered as USD for NVIDIA Isaac Sim

How is the deformable sack modeled?

A filled sack is heavy and floppy: its shape comes from the fill inside. We model the sack as a woven or paper shell with granular contents, so it slumps on a pallet, sags over a gripper and settles when dropped.

Weight sets the fill mass, from 5 to 25 kg.

Which parts of the deformable sack deform?

Sack
Woven or paper shell
Granular fill
Heavy fill that slumps and settles

What ships in the USD?

One USD file per variant, with the render mesh, the simulation geometry and a physics material bound to it. Every value is set and named, so you can open it in NVIDIA Isaac Sim and run your task, or read the numbers into your own solver from the material JSON.

  • Thin shell. A thin surface with in-plane and bending stiffness, sealed or open, with contents modeled inside. Used for film, bags, cans and paper.
  • MPM particles. Particles solved with the material point method, for granular fills and materials that flow and keep a new shape.

Where is it used?

  • Palletizing sacks
  • Depalletizing
  • Loading trucks

Industries: Logistics, Construction, Food, Agriculture

Questions

Which simulators does the deformable sack open in?

It ships as USD for NVIDIA Isaac Sim and Newton. We also deliver MJCF for MuJoCo and Genesis, a GLB mesh, and a JSON file with every material value.

Can it be matched to our real object?

Yes. Send us a sample, a drawing or a few photos and we set size, stiffness and friction to match your part.

How do we get it?

Choose your simulator, format and variant, then tell us where to send it. We prepare the files and email them to you.
