Deformable paper shopping bag

A deformable paper shopping bag with handles and fold creases, modeled as a stiff shell for retail and delivery robots.

Also called kraft paper bag or paper bag.

Delivered as USD for NVIDIA Isaac Sim

How is the deformable paper shopping bag modeled?

Kraft paper is stiff and folds along set creases. We model the bag as a stiff shell with its gusset and base creases built in as fold lines, so it opens into a box shape and flattens back along the same lines.

Twisted paper handles are short rods glued to the inside of the rim.

Which parts of the deformable paper shopping bag deform?

Bag
Stiff paper shell that folds along its creases
Handles
Twisted paper rods

What ships in the USD?

One USD file per variant, with the render mesh, the simulation geometry and a physics material bound to it. Every value is set and named, so you can open it in NVIDIA Isaac Sim and run your task, or read the numbers into your own solver from the material JSON.

  • Thin shell. A thin surface with in-plane and bending stiffness, sealed or open, with contents modeled inside. Used for film, bags, cans and paper.
  • Elastic rod. A centerline curve with a radius, and stiffness in bending, twisting and stretching. Used for cables, wires, hoses and ropes.

Where is it used?

  • Opening and packing a bag
  • Delivery handoff
  • Retail checkout

Questions

Which simulators does the deformable paper shopping bag open in?

It ships as USD for NVIDIA Isaac Sim and Newton. We also deliver MJCF for MuJoCo and Genesis, a GLB mesh, and a JSON file with every material value.

Can it be matched to our real object?

Yes. Send us a sample, a drawing or a few photos and we set size, stiffness and friction to match your part.

How do we get it?

Choose your simulator, format and variant, then tell us where to send it. We prepare the files and email them to you.

Not in the catalog? We build any object to order, with the same physics and delivery.
