How is the deformable button-up shirt modeled?

A button-up shirt has more structure than a T-shirt: a stiff collar and cuffs, a placket down the front and a yoke across the back. We model each part as cloth with its own stiffness, joined at the seams.

Each button is a small rigid body sewn to the placket, and each buttonhole is a slit in the other side, so buttoning can be scripted.

Which parts of the deformable button-up shirt deform?

Body and sleeves
Woven cloth
Collar and cuffs
Stiff, interfaced bands
Placket
Doubled strip with buttonholes
Rigid parts
Buttons

What ships in the USD?

One USD file per variant, with the render mesh, the simulation geometry and a physics material bound to it. Every value is set and named, so you can open it in NVIDIA Isaac Sim and run your task, or read the numbers into your own solver from the material JSON.

  • Cloth. A triangle surface with stretch, shear and bending stiffness and a thickness. Used for towels, sheets and garments.

Where is it used?

  • Retail folding
  • Buttoning and dressing
  • Garment on hanger handling

Industries: Retail, Household, Healthcare

Questions

Which simulators does the deformable button-up shirt open in?

It ships as USD for NVIDIA Isaac Sim and Newton. We also deliver MJCF for MuJoCo and Genesis, a GLB mesh, and a JSON file with every material value.

Can it be matched to our real object?

Yes. Send us a sample, a drawing or a few photos and we set size, stiffness and friction to match your part.

How do we get it?

Choose your simulator, format and variant, then tell us where to send it. We prepare the files and email them to you.
