Deformable hand towel

A deformable hand towel or washcloth, modeled as thick cloth for folding and wiping tasks.

Also called washcloth, face cloth or flannel.

Delivered as USD for NVIDIA Isaac Sim

How is the deformable hand towel modeled?

A hand towel is the same terry as a bath towel at a third of the size, so it drapes over a hand and bunches in a fist. We keep its thickness and bending stiffness from real terry and scale the mesh to the smaller size.

The washcloth variant is square and thinner, with a fine mesh so it wraps around a gripper finger for wiping.

Which parts of the deformable hand towel deform?

Terry body
Thick cloth that bunches and drapes
Hemmed edges
Stiffer band around the border

What ships in the USD?

One USD file per variant, with the render mesh, the simulation geometry and a physics material bound to it. Every value is set and named, so you can open it in NVIDIA Isaac Sim and run your task, or read the numbers into your own solver from the material JSON.

  • Cloth. A triangle surface with stretch, shear and bending stiffness and a thickness. Used for towels, sheets and garments.

Where is it used?

  • Folding small linens
  • Wiping surfaces
  • Bathroom tidying

Industries: Household, Hospitality

Questions

Which simulators does the deformable hand towel open in?

It ships as USD for NVIDIA Isaac Sim and Newton. We also deliver MJCF for MuJoCo and Genesis, a GLB mesh, and a JSON file with every material value.

Can it be matched to our real object?

Yes. Send us a sample, a drawing or a few photos and we set size, stiffness and friction to match your part.

How do we get it?

Choose your simulator, format and variant, then tell us where to send it. We prepare the files and email them to you.
