Deformable socks

Deformable socks in ankle and crew lengths, modeled as stretchy knit cloth for laundry pairing and sorting.

Also called sock or pair of socks.

Delivered as USD for NVIDIA Isaac Sim

How is the deformable socks modeled?

A sock is a small knit tube with a heel and a closed toe. We build it from its knit shape so the heel sits where it should, and set the cloth to stretch easily, since socks are mostly stretch.

The ribbed cuff is a tighter band that holds the opening closed when the sock lies flat.

Which parts of the deformable socks deform?

Foot and leg
Stretchy knit tube with a shaped heel
Cuff
Tighter ribbed band at the opening

What ships in the USD?

One USD file per variant, with the render mesh, the simulation geometry and a physics material bound to it. Every value is set and named, so you can open it in NVIDIA Isaac Sim and run your task, or read the numbers into your own solver from the material JSON.

  • Cloth. A triangle surface with stretch, shear and bending stiffness and a thickness. Used for towels, sheets and garments.

Where is it used?

  • Pairing socks
  • Laundry sorting
  • Turning socks right side out

Industries: Household, Retail

Questions

Which simulators does the deformable socks open in?

It ships as USD for NVIDIA Isaac Sim and Newton. We also deliver MJCF for MuJoCo and Genesis, a GLB mesh, and a JSON file with every material value.

Can it be matched to our real object?

Yes. Send us a sample, a drawing or a few photos and we set size, stiffness and friction to match your part.

How do we get it?

Choose your simulator, format and variant, then tell us where to send it. We prepare the files and email them to you.
