Cables, wires and hoses

Deformable garden hose

A deformable garden hose, modeled as a thick, heavy elastic rod that drags, coils and kinks, for home and outdoor robots.

Also called water hose or garden hosepipe.

Elastic rod

Delivered as USD for NVIDIA Isaac Sim

How is the deformable garden hose modeled?

A garden hose is heavy, stiff and long. We model it as a thick rod with high mass per meter and floor friction set so it drags and resists being pulled straight.

The hose comes either laid out or wound in a coil, with rigid fittings at each end. Coiled versions keep their coil as the rest shape, so they unwind the way a real hose does.

Which parts of the deformable garden hose deform?

Hose
Thick rod that drags, coils and kinks
Rigid parts
Threaded fittings, Spray nozzle

What ships in the USD?

One USD file per variant, with the render mesh, the simulation geometry and a physics material bound to it. Every value is set and named, so you can open it in NVIDIA Isaac Sim and run your task, or read the numbers into your own solver from the material JSON.

  • Elastic rod. A centerline curve with a radius, and stiffness in bending, twisting and stretching. Used for cables, wires, hoses and ropes.

Where is it used?

  • Watering and outdoor chores
  • Coiling and uncoiling
  • Dragging a hose around obstacles

Industries: Household, Agriculture

Questions

Which simulators does the deformable garden hose open in?

It ships as USD for NVIDIA Isaac Sim and Newton. We also deliver MJCF for MuJoCo and Genesis, a GLB mesh, and a JSON file with every material value.

Can it be matched to our real object?

Yes. Send us a sample, a drawing or a few photos and we set size, stiffness and friction to match your part.

How do we get it?

Choose your simulator, format and variant, then tell us where to send it. We prepare the files and email them to you.

Not in the catalog? We build any object to order, with the same physics and delivery.
