Deformable DAC twinax cable
Reconnecting copper links between switches and servers
Linear deformables are the parts of a cell that bend, twist and drape: patch cables in a rack, a wire harness on an assembly line, pneumatic tubing on a machine, a rope tied around a load. They are long and thin, so we model them as elastic rods: a centerline with a radius, bending, twisting and stretch stiffness, and rigid connectors where the real part has them.
Every cable, wire and hose here is modeled by hand to the dimensions of a real part, with connectors built as separate rigid bodies attached to the rod ends. Each one ships as USD with its material parameters set, ready to open in NVIDIA Isaac Sim.
