Deformable power cord

A deformable power cord with an IEC C13 connector and a wall plug, modeled as a heavy elastic rod for appliance assembly and home robots.

Also called mains cable, AC power cable, kettle lead or IEC cable.

Elastic rod

Delivered as USD for NVIDIA Isaac Sim

How is the deformable power cord modeled?

A power cord is thicker and heavier than a data cable, so its rod has a larger radius, more mass per meter and more bending stiffness. It sags between supports and lies in loose loops on the floor.

The IEC C13 connector and the wall plug are hand-modeled rigid bodies with true pin and socket geometry. The wall plug is offered in regional standards so it fits the socket models in our building fixtures.

Which parts of the deformable power cord deform?

Cord
Bends and sags under its own weight
Strain relief
Stiffer rod section at each connector
Rigid parts

What ships in the USD?

One USD file per variant, with the render mesh, the simulation geometry and a physics material bound to it. Every value is set and named, so you can open it in NVIDIA Isaac Sim and run your task, or read the numbers into your own solver from the material JSON.

  • Elastic rod. A centerline curve with a radius, and stiffness in bending, twisting and stretching. Used for cables, wires, hoses and ropes.

Where is it used?

  • Plugging an appliance into a wall socket
  • Appliance assembly
  • Cable tidying at home

Industries: Household, Manufacturing, Electronics

Questions

Which simulators does the deformable power cord open in?

It ships as USD for NVIDIA Isaac Sim and Newton. We also deliver MJCF for MuJoCo and Genesis, a GLB mesh, and a JSON file with every material value.

Can it be matched to our real object?

Yes. Send us a sample, a drawing or a few photos and we set size, stiffness and friction to match your part.

How do we get it?

Choose your simulator, format and variant, then tell us where to send it. We prepare the files and email them to you.

Not in the catalog? We build any object to order, with the same physics and delivery.
