Paper and cardboard

Deformable paper envelope

A deformable paper envelope or letter in C4, C5 and DL sizes, modeled as a thin shell for mail sorting.

Also called letter or mail envelope.

Thin shell

Delivered as USD for NVIDIA Isaac Sim

How is the deformable paper envelope modeled?

An envelope is two layers of paper with a folded flap. We model it as a thin shell that bends and curls, with the flap on a crease line, so it can be fanned, slid and stacked.

Filled envelopes carry a paper insert that adds stiffness.

Which parts of the deformable paper envelope deform?

Envelope
Thin shell that bends and slides
Flap
Folds on its crease

What ships in the USD?

One USD file per variant, with the render mesh, the simulation geometry and a physics material bound to it. Every value is set and named, so you can open it in NVIDIA Isaac Sim and run your task, or read the numbers into your own solver from the material JSON.

  • Thin shell. A thin surface with in-plane and bending stiffness, sealed or open, with contents modeled inside. Used for film, bags, cans and paper.

Where is it used?

  • Mail sorting
  • Picking flat items
  • Singulating a stack

Questions

Which simulators does the deformable paper envelope open in?

It ships as USD for NVIDIA Isaac Sim and Newton. We also deliver MJCF for MuJoCo and Genesis, a GLB mesh, and a JSON file with every material value.

Can it be matched to our real object?

Yes. Send us a sample, a drawing or a few photos and we set size, stiffness and friction to match your part.

How do we get it?

Choose your simulator, format and variant, then tell us where to send it. We prepare the files and email them to you.

Not in the catalog? We build any object to order, with the same physics and delivery.
