Deformable paper and cardboard assets: boxes, envelopes and cartons

Paper and cardboard bend along creases and stay bent. A box flap swings on its score line, a sheet of paper curls and slides, a carton dents when squeezed. Where a fold line is known in advance, as on a box, we model the panels as stiff plates joined by hinges along the score lines, which gives exact, repeatable folding.

Free-form paper, such as a sheet, an envelope or a page, is a thin shell with low bending stiffness. All of these ship with the friction of real board and paper, which decides whether an item slides off a flap or stays put.

We show a sample of each category here. Leave your details and we will email you the full catalog, with every asset, variant and format we deliver.

Physics model

Articulated
Rigid links joined by revolute, prismatic or helical joints, with limits, damping and springs where the real object has them.
Thin shell
A thin surface with in-plane and bending stiffness, sealed or open, with contents modeled inside. Used for film, bags, cans and paper.
Cloth
A triangle surface with stretch, shear and bending stiffness and a thickness. Used for towels, sheets and garments.
